UP Catalyst Secures €18M from EIB

CleanTech startup UP Catalyst has landed €18M in financing from the European Investment Bank to scale its breakthrough tech that turns CO₂ into high-performance carbon materials.

With this boost, the team plans to ramp up production to support over 20,000 EVs annually while reducing Europe’s reliance on fossil-based imports. Their molten salt electrolysis technology enables climate-neutral graphite and carbon nanotubes for batteries, defence, and beyond.

This milestone follows their 2024 seed extension round and recognition as a Strategic Project Partner under the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act.

Congrats to our member Gary Urb & the entire UP Catalyst team! 🚀
